Rob Smoughton
(Black Peaches)

STAGE - St John's Church Hall
TIMINGS - TBC

Rob Smoughton is best known as a member of the London-based band Hot Chip - headlining stages at Glastonbury or Coachella, and playing venues such as the Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl and Brixton Academy.

But his presence in the music world is by no means limited to Hot Chip. As a drummer he formed The Naciente Quartet in the early 2000s and and in 2011 was invited to join Scritti Politti (with whom he’s drummed ever since). Alongside Hot Chip, Rob created the alter-ego ‘Grovesnor’ to explore his love of 70’s singer-songwriters and blue-eyed soul.

In 2016 Rob formed the latin-tinged country-rock band Blac Peaches which demonstrated his ability to fuse seemingly disparate influences such as Brazilian Tropicalia, Krautrock, British Folk and Southern Boogie.

2026 finds Rob performing solo with guitar and drum machine - presenting a blend of everything that has gone before, but more importantly a hint of anything that might come next.
